MacRitchie Reservoir is Singapore’s oldest reservoir.  The reservoir was completed in 1868 by impounding water from an earth embankment, and was then known as the impounding Reservoir or Thomson Reservoir.  Anchored by Singapore’s largest reservoir – part of the water catchment system that captures rain water – the park and nature reserve at the very heart of Singapore is a popular destination for runners, water sports enthusiasts, and nature lovers.

Take an exhilarating walk around the 11-kilometre nature trail loop known as MacRitchie Trails, located within the tropical rainforest of Central Catchment Nature Reserve.  You will likely bump into long-tailed monkeys, squirrels and monitor lizards. Draft Master Plan for Lentor

According to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s draft master plan 2019, residents in these areas can look forward to some upcoming exciting developments in Lentor. A master plan is essentially a guide that strategises the development of land and property in a specific area.

  • No new launches within the vicinity for more than 12years.
  • Surrounded by landed Enclaves
  • First launch within the next upcoming big wave in Lentor (5 more other lands for sales)
  • The government has launched a land parcel each at Lentor Central, Lentor Gardens and Lentor Hills Road (Parcel B) for sale under the 1H2022 Government Land Sales (GLS) Programme. Collectively, the three GLS sites could yield about 1,265 new residential units, says URA.
  • If the two newly released plots are successfully sold, it would bring the total supply pipeline of residential units in the Lentor area to about 1,935homes.
  • Buyers get to enjoy First mover’s advantage, and stand to gain potentially on future higher GLS land cost, and higher launch prices

New train stations

Lentor MRT is in operation now. With the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) scheduled to be completed by 2024, residents can look forward to shorter travelling journeys to Outram Park and Marina Bay MRT stations via Caldecott MRT station (Circle Line and TEL Line).

Better town connectivity

As Singapore’s first model Walking and Cycling town, dedicated cycling paths complement existing footpaths to provide ample space for both pedestrians and cyclists. Lentor and Mayflower MRT Stations on the Thomson-East Coast Line will make Ang Mo Kio even more accessible to the City and the North.
