1. Proximity to public transportations
The nearest train station from The Garden Residences is Kovan or Serangoon MRT station. It’s about an 8-minute car ride away. Upcoming will have a cross island line Serangoon North MRT which is only 5 min walk to new station coming up in 2029.
Kovan or Serangoon MRT station services the North-East Line. From Serangoon interchange, you get connected with the circle line. From there, you can choose to travel to Bishan to transfer to the North-South Line or to MacPherson to take the Downtown Line. It’s only a couple of train stops away.
Take a 4-minute walk from The Garden Residences to opposite Block 127 along Serangoon North Avenue 1 (Stop ID: 66321) if you want to hop on bus 315. Bus 315 takes you to Serangoon Station and end its route at the interchange.
For more options, take an 8-minute walk to Block 101 along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 (Stop ID: 66339). There are nine bus services from the bus stop – 25, 55, 73, 74, 74e, 76, 132, 165, and 660.
Bus 25 takes you directly to Ang Mo Kio station and interchange. Cross to the opposite side and hop on bus 25 if you want to get to Eunos station, Bedok Sports Complex, or Temasek Secondary School.
Bus 55 drops by Townsville Primary School, Bishan Park, and Bishan interchange. Take the same bus from the opposite side if you want to get to CHIJ Katong Convent (Primary), St. Patrick’s School, or Victoria School.
You can do a quick Google search to see where the other buses lead to.
2. Grocery, shopping and services
The nearest grocery store from The Garden Residences is FairPrice Finest located in myVillage. It’s about 1km away and a 5-minute drive can take you there.
For other options, you can consider Sheng Siong Supermarket at 19 Serangoon North Avenue 5. It takes about an 8-minute drive to reach. Prefer to shop at Giant? Drive for about 10 minutes to get to the one at 982 Buangkok Crescent.
myVillage is the closest mall to The Garden Residences. It’s a high-end mall with some boutique shops, eateries, and a rooftop green space.
Second to myVillage is Hougang 1, about a 9-minute drive from the property. There’s FairPrice Xtra within the mall so you can do your grocery shopping at the mall as well.
Or you can consider going to NEX shopping mall, slightly further away from Hougang 1. NEX has a huge range of shopping options with brands like Charles & Keith, G200, and H&M. You can also find Levi’s, Skechers, and Uniqlo, just to name a few.
It’s probably a wise choice to run your errands at NEX as well. It has two money changers, a pet safari, and laundry services. There’s also a floral shop at level three.
About an 11-minute drive away from The Garden Residences is Heartland Mall, another shopping mall you can consider to get your to-do list ticked off.
3. Food options
There are a couple of coffee shops within the neighbourhood for a quick bite or takeaway. You can find Choh Dee Place, Sheng He Food Chain, and 151 Coffee & Tea less than a 10-minute walk away.
For a wide variety of food options, take a 4-minute drive from The Garden Residences to get to Chomp Chomp Food Centre. It has local delights like fried Hokkien mee, carrot cake, and satay. You can also walk over to R.K. Eating House Pte Ltd or Srisun Express Serangoon Garden for Indian cuisines.
Serangoon Garden Market & Food Centre, an 8-minute drive from the property is also another hawker centre you can drive to. There’s comfort food like kway chap, nasi lemak, and sweet treats like ice kachang.
If you can’t withstand Singapore’s humidity, then head to one of the shopping malls we’ve introduced to you earlier. myVillage has Subway, Bottega Italian Restaurant, Bar & Grocer, and Hajime Tonkatsu & Ramen.

During your free time, you can consider driving for about 6 minutes to get to Serangoon Gardens Country Club. The country club boasts of a range of facilities for family members of all ages.
You can choose to have a swim in their competition-sized swimming pool or soak up the sun in the outdoor jacuzzis and water play area. For the indoor-lovers, challenge your loved ones to a few sessions at Gardens Bowl, a 10-lane bowling alley, or sing to your heart’s content at the karaoke rooms. You can also take up classes at the aerobics studio, or join a yoga or martial arts class.
SICC Millennium Golf Course at Island Club Road is a 20-minute drive away. Take a private class or hone your golf skills at the golf course. In the same vicinity, you can also embark on a cardio workout by taking on the MacRitchie Trail or TreeTop Walk.
Draft Master Plan for Serangoon (2019)
A master plan is a guide that strategizes the development of land and property in a specific area at least for the next 10 years. The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has announced the draft master plan specifically for Serangoon and Hougang in 2019.

From Hougang MRT station, you will find yourself just three train stops away to Pasir Ris MRT station (East-West Line), three train stops away to Ang Mo Kio MRT station (North-South Line) on the opposite direction, and five train stops away to Bright Hill MRT station (Thomson-East Coast Line).
