Why should you choose to stay at The Antares?

1. Near to public transportations

Train stations

The nearest train station is Mattar MRT station (Downtown Line). In fact, the train station is literally right beside The Antares. Considering its distance to access the train, it can’t get any more convenient than this.

You can take the train one stop away to MacPherson MRT station, where you can access the Circle Line. If not, consider a short 15-minute walk from the property to MacPherson MRT station directly. From MacPherson MRT station, you’re again just one stop away to Paya Lebar MRT station, where you can take the East-West Line to Bugis, City Hall, or Raffles Place MRT stations for leisure and work.

Buses

There’s one bus stop just steps away from The Antares. You can find it along Mattar Road, opposite Mattar Station exit B (Stop ID: 70231). We took a quick look and found 10 buses servicing the area.

For example, bus 40 headed towards Bedok Interchange stops by Aljunied MRT station (East-West Line), Tanjong Katong Girls’ School, and NAFA Arts Kindergarten. Bus 61 bound for Bukit Batok Interchange stops by the National Library, City Hall MRT station, and VivoCity.

The other bus numbers are 63, 65, 66, 66A, 135, 154, 155, and 158. Do a quick search to see where the buses lead to!

2. Grocery, shopping and services

SingPost Centre

For your grocery needs, FairPrice at Block 77 Circuit Road is the best option. It’s only 500m from The Antares. The next nearest option is Sheng Siong Supermarket along Circuit Road, a 15-minute walk away. For people who prefer to get their groceries from Giant supermarket, Paya Lebar Square has one in basement one.

To satisfy your shopping needs, we would recommend that you take the train to Paya Lebar MRT station as there are a range of options for your consideration. Or take a drive or ride out and you will reach the shopping malls within 10 minutes. We’re talking about options like Paya Lebar Square, SingPost Centre, Tanjong Katong Complex, KINEX, and City Plaza. You probably won’t get bored with alternating between the shopping malls.

To shop for all things fashion, head to Kinex instead. The mall has fashion brands like Giordano, Levi’s, and Refash. Or if you’re not brand sensitive, City Plaza makes a good place to get some affordable buys.

You can drop by SingPost Centre to exchange some foreign currency at Chandra Money Changer, send a parcel at the post office, or get some blooms from Flower Matters. There are also medical clinics, repair shops, and a POSB bank outlet within the building.

3. Food options

The Antares is parked right in the middle of two food centres – Circuit Road Market & Food Centre and MacPherson Market & Food Centre. Circuit Road Market & Food Centre is open from 5am to 2pm. Hence, it makes a good place for some morning fish soup, warm porridge, or a bowl of laksa. MacPherson Market & Food Centre closes at noon so if you want the freshest local kuehs, it’s best to wake up early.

Located not too far away from the condominium is Hippo Family Restaurant. You can find it along 72 Circuit Road and a 15-minute walk will take you there. Consider picking up some organic bread and pastries at Bud Of Joy bakery while you’re at the neighbourhood. Bud Of Joy even conducts baking workshops!

As always, for a larger range of alternatives, head straight to one of the shopping malls we’ve introduced to you earlier. There are fast food restaurants like MacDonald’s, Japanese food chain Sakae Sushi, and a food court located within Paya Lebar Square. SingPost Centre has Astons Specialities, Seoul Yummy, and Kopitiam foodcourt.

Draft Master Plan for Geylang & Marine Parade (2019)

While The Antares is part of district 13, it’s also a section of the Geylang area on the map. As such, developments for Geylang would directly affect you, if you’re planning to be a resident of the property.

A draft master plan is essentially a guide that strategizes the development of land and property in a specific area at least for the next 10 years. The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) has announced the draft master plan specifically for Geylang and Marine Parade in 2019.

Here are a few developments to look out for:

Eldercare facility near Mattar MRT station

You should be well aware of how close The Antares is to Mattar MRT station by now. Residents like yourselves will be able to enjoy trouble-free eldercare facilities near the train station. You can expect the establishment to be ready in 2022, which includes a nursing home, centre-based day care, day rehabilitation, and even home-based care services.

New expansion plans for Paya Lebar Central & Geylang Serai

There will be new commercial initiations at Paya Lebar. This means more work opportunities close to home! The Geylang Serai district will also welcome a new community and civic cultural centre – the Wisma Geylang Serai, a cultural heritage integrated hub.

New train stations

Set to be completed in 2023, you can expect better connectivity with new MRT stations such as Katong Park, Tanjong Katong, Marine Parade, and Marine Terrace via the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL). Following after which in 2024, Bedok South and Sungei Bedok MRT stations will be added to the list of new train stations. Exciting expansion plans coming right up!
