Zoom out via the interactive Google map above and you will see the position of Riverfront Residences and its proximity to Hougang MRT station. As we’ve briefly mentioned in the introduction, it’s a 15-minute walk from the property.
Via Hougang MRT station, you will able to access the North-East Line. You will be two train stops away to Serangoon Interchange, where you can take the Circle Line to Bishan MRT station and access the North-South Line.
By connecting the dots, you will be able to reach your destinations in no time.
Right outside Riverfront Residences, you will be able to access bus services 112 and 112A.
Bus 112 services the Hougang area and you can stop by several places like Kovan Sports Centre, Xinmin Primary School, Kovan Hub, and Kovan MRT station. The departing and arriving stop for bus 112 is Hougang Central Interchange.
Bus 112A has a much shorter route, departing from Hougang Central Interchange and stopping at Kovan MRT station exit B.
2. Shopping and services
The nearest shopping mall from Riverfront Residences is Hougang Mall. It’s about 1.5km away and a 20-minute walk or 5-minute drive will take you there.
Some of the notable places in the mall are Harvey Norman, FairPrice Supermarket, Popular Bookstore, and Cheng San Community Library. There are also Eu Yan Sang TCM Clinic, Healthway Hougang Clinic, two dental clinics, and Singapore Post.
As we’ve stated earlier, since buses 112 and 112A stop by Kovan MRT station, you can also consider dropping by Heartland Mall at times. Heartland Mall is conveniently located beside Kovan MRT station.
The mall has several fashion stores including sports and kids’ apparels. You can get your groceries from Cold Storage or Korean food products at Lee Mart, exchange some foreign currencies at AJS Money Exchange, or visit the Singtel store.
It’s good to have these options near home!
3. Food options
Hougang Mall and Heartland Mall
Since we were on the topic of shopping malls, it’s a given that there will be many food choices you can pick from at either Hougang Mall or Heartland Mall.
Just to name a few, Hougang Mall has light bites like BBQ Express, Daun Pandan Rice Dumpling, and Ho Kee Pau. It also has restaurants like Old Street Bak Kut Teh, Pizza Hut, and the Soup Restaurant.
As for Heartland Mall, you can satisfy your sugar cravings at LiHo, Twelve Cupcakes, and Boost Juice Bar. There’s also a Vegetarian Express Cafe at level 2.
On days where you may not want to head to either of the shopping malls, there are a couple of coffee shops in the vicinity of Riverfront Residences.
There are at least three within a 1km radius – Kimly Eating House at 327 Hougang Avenue 5, Goh Lim Hua Eating House at 309 Hougang Avenue 5, and Divine Vegetarian Family Restaurant at Hougang Avenue 7.

New rail line
The Cross Island Line (CRL) will be Singapore’s eighth MRT line and this new route will provide shorter travelling distances from Hougang MRT station.
By 2029 when the line is fully constructed, you will find yourself just three train stops away from Hougang MRT station to Pasir Ris MRT station (East-West Line), three train stops away to Ang Mo Kio MRT station (North-South Line) on the opposite direction, and five train stops away to Bright Hill MRT station (Thomson-East Coast Line).

Here’s the big picture for the Riverfront Residences before we go into the specifics.
Right from the arrival area at basement one, you will be greeted with the lobby, retail shops, and an entrance cascading water feature.
Moving on to the first storey at the entrance pavilion, you will find the washrooms and a function room which can act as a co-working or study space. There are several other function rooms located within the property as well.
